Happy Reader…

It really is so lovely to get book reviews! They make such a difference to an author, especially when they have toiled away for months/years on end. A bit of my soul went into Will’s War along with my blood, sweat and tears. so thank you for taking the time to put pen to paper. (metaphorically of course!).

“I loved this book. It took me back to my childhood of playing in old air raid shelters and listening to stories from our parents about their experiences during World War 2. The idea of this book is ingenious and gives a wonderful insight into life for youngsters during the war whilst providing a modern context. This book is beautifully written and will be a great read for young readers.” M.O.K.

Book Review…

Whilst it is entirely lovely to get book reviews from children, it is also thrilling when adults read and enjoy your book.  Here is a snippet of a recent review. I have had to edit it as there are spoilers!

‘I finished my paperback of Will’s War yesterday and found it such a great adventure! He really went through the wringer after he got placed on a farm then was forced to work on the ship. I wondered if Will looks up Elizabeth, Frank and Charlie in the future and even visits them when they are elderly or their grandkids?

Thanks for a fab book!’

Will’s War is shortly to be published on Kindle (possibly even free for a short time – shhh) I will keep you all updated!

Independent Bookshops….

As a debut author it is exciting and thrilling to find one’s book nestling on a bookshelf in an actual bookshop! Thank you Chard Bookshop for stocking Will’s War.

It was so lovely to meet the children at Milborne Port Library and to see so may children enthusiastic about reading books.

We all had great fun investigating Will’s suitcase and working on a code-breaking activity.
